Patchwork Baby

This is my last Sweet Baby card, at least for now! This time the cute little elephant image got some love. Whereas the first two cards came together very quickly, I really labored over this one. It took me a long time to figure out where I was going with it and how it was all going to come together. But I do like the end result!

Once I'd settled on using this layout, it was fun to create different little vignettes in each square. The elephant was die cut and stamped with Cool Caribbean ink. The green mat behind the elephant was embossed with my Textured Stripes embossing folder. Behind the button, the Whisper White layer was embossed with Swiss Dots. And behind the die cut heart the green layer was impressed with a Wood Grain impression plate. Lots of different textures! I used a paper piercer to add some interest under the sentiment. All of the squares are popped up with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! :)

Sweet Boy

Here is my second Sweet Baby card, this time using the lion image. I had extra brown letters cut out from my Father's Day cards, so I thought this was a good opportunity to put some of them to use. I also couldn't resist adding some argyle to the bottom to both reinforce the boy theme and carry on my color scheme.

The "b" and "y" were die cut from PTI's Block Alphabet. I used a button from my stash for the "o" and threaded it with twine.

Both the lion's body and head are popped up with foam tape. The last thing I did was swipe some Tea Dye around the edge of the white panel before adhering it to a Chocolate Chip card base. I'm loving this set! :)

This card and others are available in my Etsy shop. Check them out!

Welcome, Baby

Going back over previous baby cards I had made and posted about, I noticed that most of them all used the same image. Clearly I needed to add some variety. So when I put in my first Papertrey Ink order a little while back, I included two baby sets. Up until now, I hadn't had a chance to use them. That changed this past weekend!

This cute giraffe is from the set Sweet Baby. Three different animals are included, and you'll see cards using all of them over the next few days! But today I wanted to share this baby girl card. The giraffe is die cut from Stamper's Select White card stock and stamped with Pretty in Pink ink. The little heart was stamped with Ruby Red.

I stamped some matching pink polka dots from Polka Dot Basics II along the bottom. Two score lines helped define the bottom portion of the card. The sentiment is from Bundle of Love. Lastly, I adhered the white panel to a Pink Pirouette card base with foam adhesive. I'm so pleased with how this turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

You Amaze Me

I have had the SU! set Eventful for many years, but had never used the rabbit image before. I'm sure we all have stamps that have never seen ink. Well, I thought it was high time to give it some love and see what I could make with it. This is what I came up with!

I had a rough sketch in mind so I started by die cutting the two Vintage Labels from Smokey Shadow and Whisper White card stock. On the white layer, I stamped the rabbit image in Onyx black and then went in with an aqua painter to color in the hat.

I wanted the rabbit to stand out more, he was getting a bit lost without any color, so I outlined him with a Copic C2 marker. That created a nice shadow which gave him some definition. The stars have a little bit of sparkle thanks to a Sakura glitter pen. I also stamped the dotted frame in Real Red.

The hat band gave me the idea to use the double ended banner die behind the focal point. The red banners echo the hat band. The white mat layer was a bit plain on its own so I impressed it with the Linen & Canvas impression plate.

I hope you enjoyed today's card! Thanks for stopping by!

Fly Away, Too

I have another birthday card to share today. I had an extra plane die cut from Fly Away sitting on my desk so I decided to put it to good use! The plane and banner were stamped with Real Red ink, then tied together with some twine. They are also popped up with foam tape. The circle behind the plane was impressed with my Book Print impression plate, the alphabet side.

A Little Argyle was stamped along the bottom to ground the design. I also stitched around the perimeter of the card. Two buttons from my stash finished it off!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
