Lavender Soap

Hello, friends! As some of you may know, I have been toying with the idea of adding my handmade soap to my Etsy shop for over a year now, but I am the sort that will think over an idea to death before actually taking the plunge. Sometimes this extra thought is a very good thing, and sometimes it just means I need a good kick in the pants to actually get going!

Up until now the bulk of my soap has been sold locally at Crafted Westside, but I have been holding back some of the bars from my most recent batches and I am happy to announce that they are now available online in my Etsy shop at theapplecrate.etsy.com!

I'll be showcasing some of my soaps over the next few days to introduce what is currently available. This is my lavender soap, made with all natural ingredients. Lavender is always a favorite fragrance, and these bars also include lavender buds. Being a soap maker I am lucky to enjoy using a handcrafted bar of soap every day. I would love for you to share that experience, too!

Small Business Saturday (and coupon!)

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving! I hope each of you have plans to spend the holiday with loved ones and eat lots of delicious food. I'll be up on Ohio with my husband's side of the family, where we'll have a full house of 30 or so people!

Everyone knows about Black Friday following on the heels of Thanksgiving, but do you also know about Small Business Saturday? It is a day to support your small local businesses, in contrast to the big box stores. I'll be participating in Small Business Saturday this weekend by offering a coupon for my Etsy shop.

By using coupon code SBS14, you will receive 15% off your entire purchase now through Saturday, November 29th! I have Christmas cards, cute holiday gift tags, and cards for all occasions.

Have a great weekend!

Chevron Thank You Note Sets

Hello! I've been busily working away in my craft room the past two weeks trying to increase my stock of inventory. Craft fair season is quickly approaching and there are a few shows I am hoping to participate in. If I start now, hopefully crunch time won't be so bad in a few months!

One of the things to come out of my creative endeavors are these cute chevron thank you notes. Originally I was just going to make a set of one color, but they were so much fun I just couldn't stop! I kept eying more colors to try! Ha!

I also experimented with a complete monochromatic look versus stamping the sentiment in black to help it pop.

These sets are now available in my Etsy shop. They are perfect to have on hand for yourself or to give as a gift! With the holidays approaching you can never have too many thank you notes on hand. :)

Like I said, I was having way too much fun making these. :) I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
