Wanted: Get Well Wishes

I made this card for my Dad recently. He's been recovering from surgery and I wanted to send him something to cheer him up. I don't have very many "guy" stamps, and even fewer "get well" stamps, so I improvised with what I had. In the end I chose to use my Wanted set, which has sort of a western theme.

To create the background, I cut panels from Real Red, Night of Navy and Whisper White card stock. Using Versa Mark ink, I stamped a few of the paisley pattern images over the panels and then embossed with white and black embossing powder. I was going for a bandana look. Each of the panels was also swiped with Tea Dye.

The focal piece was cut using a Mat Stack 1 die from Crumb Cake card stock. I stamped the horse and sentiment and then used a crop-a-dile to set eyelets on either side. I looped a bit of twine through the eyelets to finish it off.

I hope he liked it!

This is a great masculine card! The embossing really makes it pop! The individual colors of red, white and blue remind of handkerchiefs that I wore on my head in high school and I won't tell you when that was. I'm sure your dad loved it!
